Different Spellings, Same Great Taste

We ended up going to City Hall over five times trying to obtain the business license.  It's a very simple process where you completed a form, get it notarized, then pay a fee and you will be issued the license.  It shouldn't even take more than fifteen minutes or more than two trips max.  However, we could not get the license because the LLC certificate hasn't been issued.  The delay was due to the spelling of Yogurt vs. Yoghurt!

After a phone call to the Commonwealth of Mass.  We learned that the LLC certificate wasn't issued because the claimant thought that we spelled the word Yogurt incorrectly.  We had to confirmed that we intentionally spelled it as Blush Yoghurt Cafe, LLC and it's actually correct.

In the main English from outside North America (British and Australian), Yoghurt is the preferred spelling.  While in American and Canadian English, Yogurt is used.  The most uncommon spelling is Yoghourt.  Not many people know that this yummy dessert can be spelled more than three different ways: yogurt, yoghurt, yoghourt, yogourt, yaghourt, yoghurd, joghourt, and jogourt.  It's the same word with variant spellings.  But whatever the spelling, it is still a tasty treat.

Renovation Day 2 - April 24, 2012

All carpets for the counter area and prep area have been removed today.  The goal is to have the prep area front wall and small side wall next to the office removed tomorrow, so we can lay down the tiles on Thursday.  We had three choices on the color for the tiles: grey, beige, and red.  It was a hard decision because all three looks so nice.  We were thinking of mixing all three in a pattern but it looked too busy.  Then we were going for a checker look with red and beige.  However, the final decision was just beige to keep it bright, clean, and simple.  You could never go wrong with a neutral color.

On the electrical side, half the track lights have been installed.  By end of tomorrow the other half will be finished and a sub-panel will be placed into the small glass study room.  At this pace, I think electrical will be completed in a couple days.

Our little contractor is hard at work :)

Renovation Day 1 - April 23, 2012

Blush's renovation begin today! We covered the windows and all glasses on the doors with papers. We used spray paint to write our "coming soon" sign as a fun quick project.

As simple as it looks, it took us a few tries before we can get a decent nice sign.  Spray painting is not as easy as you think.  But it was still fun and quick to have a plain, direct and down to earth sign to let customers know that we will be opening soon.
